THE INNER CONFLICT OF MAIN CAST IN BLUE-EYES DEVIL NOVEL
Problems of human life doesn't escape from the conflict, both of personal factors arising from themselves as well as the factors that come from outside themselves. Conflicts that occured in human called inner conflict. Inner conflict that lasted continuously can have an impact on the changing the human experience characteristic and attitude. Our inner conflicts often encountered in literature. Literary work is one of the media used to express human feelings in verbal and written form. This was disclosed by Aristoteles who said that the soul in an element of life for humans. This inner conflict is also often associated with the science of psychology.
The existence of a character in a fiction has an important role in conveying the message to the reader's story. A fiction has characters with characteristics and different disposition. The emergence of leaders with a story of the journey of life, may indirectly affect the psychological state of the characters or actors other stories. Mental condition in which the character, may change depending on the situation at hand. Basically the psychology literature gives attention to the problems associated with psychiatric elements of fictional characters contained in the literature.
The Blue-Eyed Devil is a novel by an American beatiful writer, Lisa Kleypas who was born in 1964 in Texas. After graduating from Wellesley College with a political science degree, Lisa published her first novel at age twenty-one. And her books are published in fourteen languages and also bestseller all over the world. Lisa writes for St. Martins Press too. In 1985, she ever competed in the Miss America pageant in Atlantic City. She also known as Miss Massachusetts because she get a challenged to wears an excess length banner into her swimsuits, so she got a nickname as "Miss Massachu". Besides, at the competition in Atlantic City, Lisa won a 'talented non finalist' award because she can singing an original composition.
In 1998 Lisa had getting married with Gregory and having the most wonderful little boy and girl in the world. That same year, her novel, "Stranger In My Arms" was given the Waldenbooks Award for greatest sales growth. The following year, because her novel, "Someone To Watch Over Me" she was nominated as The Romance Writers of America Convention. In 2002, "Suddenly You" was a RITA finalist and she won The RITA Award for her Christmas anthology novella featured in the Dorchester publication "Wish List". Then "Lady Sophia's Lover" was awarded of Best Sensuous Historical Romance from Romantic Times magazine, and appears as reviewed in Publishers Weekly, with her novel "When Strangers Marry".
A few years later she tried to make novel series. Such as, The Travis who consisting of Sugar Daddy, Blue-Eyed Devil and Smooth Talking Stranger. All three received rave reviews from readers all over the world, especially in the United States. The first contemporary novel of Lisa, "Sugar Daddy" was a finalist for the RITA Award as Best Novel with Strong Romantic Elements, "Blue-Eyed Devil" too being a finalist of RITA Award. Meanwhile, Smooth Talking Stranger hit the New York Times Bestseller List and get third place.
The novel which most interesting in The Travis series is Blue-Eyed Devil. The published in 2008. This novel picked up the story about a girl, Haven Travis, who came from a wealthy family who falling in love with young man who a competitor of the company her father, Hardy Cates. There are many conflicts in this novel, disputes between Haven and Haven Mr. Travis leading away from the house, the internal problems that occur in the Travis family, and much more. The interesting thing about this novel is the persistence Haven to get sympathy from all her family members to accepted the presence of Hardy in the Travis family.
Therefore, the authors are interested in the theme of this inner conflict because of the many conflicts that exist in this novel. Morover, the authors also found a lot of lessons or implicit messages that we can take from this novel. That is about the life of luxury, but there are heartbreaking stories that make them struggled and get a successful.
